       The Committee on Executive (Gaetz) recommended the following:
       
       
    1         CRC Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete everything after the proposing clause
    4  and insert:
    5         Section 2 of Article IV of the State Constitution is
    6  amended to read:
    7                             ARTICLE IV                            
    8                              EXECUTIVE                            
    9         SECTION 2. Lieutenant governor.—
   10         There shall be a lieutenant governor, who shall:
   11         (a) As assigned by the governor, serve as the head of any
   12  department of which the head is a secretary appointed by the
   13  governor, without senate confirmation and notwithstanding any
   14  qualifications for appointment as secretary of the department;
   15  and
   16         (b) Perform such duties pertaining to the office of
   17  governor as shall be assigned by the governor, except when
   18  otherwise provided by law, and such other duties as may be
   19  prescribed by law.

   22  And the title is amended as follows:
   23         Delete everything before the proposing clause
   24  and insert:
   25                         A proposal to amend                       
   26         Section 2 of Article IV of the State Constitution to
   27         require the Lieutenant Governor to serve as the head
   28         of a department as assigned by the Governor.
