Florida Supreme Court Briefs & Opinions
For more than twenty years, the Florida State University College of Law Library, with financial support from the other law schools in Florida, has been working to make the briefs filed in the Florida Supreme Court more widely available for research. With the help of the Florida Supreme Court and the State Archives, we have attempted to locate the briefs for every case since the early 1960's in which an opinion was issued by the Court and published in Southern Reporter. In earlier years we microfilmed the opinions and briefs for each case and distributed the microfiche to the Florida law school libraries. Complete sets are located at the law libraries of the Florida State University, Nova Southeastern University, St. Thomas University, Stetson University, the University of Florida, and the University of Miami.
Beginning with Court opinions issued in October 1999, we have moved the project to the Web. We are committed to posting each opinion and the briefs filed in that case, within one week of the Court's issuing the opinion. As the project continues, we intend to work backwards as well and include cases with opinions issued prior to October 1999.
