TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, the Constitution Revision Commission (CRC) unveiled a new Citizen Guide to help educate Floridians about the CRC process. The Citizen Guide is available on the CRC’s recently launched "Get Involved” webpage which shares infographics, handouts and additional resources to encourage public participation in the CRC process.

CRC Chairman Carlos Beruff, said, “Our new Citizen Guide provides key information about the CRC process and is available on the CRC’s "Get Involved” webpage. We want as much public participation as possible and encourage all interested Floridians to submit their proposals by October 6, which is the deadline being considered by the CRC for public proposals.”

The CRC is considering Friday, October 6 as the filing deadline for public proposals to be considered by the CRC. The recommended deadline is subject to approval by a vote of the full CRC. The next full CRC meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 2 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM in Tallahassee. For more information on upcoming CRC meetings, visit flcrc.gov/Meetings.

Once every 20 years, Florida's Constitution provides for the creation of a 37-member revision commission for the purpose of reviewing Florida's Constitution and proposing changes for voter consideration. The Constitution Revision Commission (CRC) meets for approximately one year, traveling the State of Florida, identifying issues, performing research and possibly recommending changes to the Constitution.
