PUB 700030: Seat of Government - Move to Central Florida to Be More Centerally Accessible to All Residents of Florida by David Dweck
ARTICLE II: GENERAL PROVISIONS, Section 2. Seat of government.
The seat of government shall be moved to Central Florida to a City and County determined by the Florida Legislature and Governor no later than the end of the 2021 Legislative Session. All facilities currently maintained in the City of Tallahassee, in Leon County, where the offices of the governor, lieutenant governor, cabinet members and the supreme court shall be vacated with new facilities built and occupied by December 31, 2030. The new facilities will be maintained and the sessions of the legislature shall be held; provided that, in time of invasion or grave emergency, the governor by proclamation may for the period of the emergency transfer the seat of government to another place. Certain facilities such as the original Capital Building, Governor's Mansion and other Historic Builiding shall become part of our Florida Park Service.
