Commissioner Erika Donalds is a fourth generation Floridian from Tampa, Florida. She attended Florida State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Accounting, and later, she earned a Masters in Accountancy from Florida Atlantic University. Commissioner Donalds is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). 

Commissioner Donalds currently serves on the Collier County School Board, a position she was originally elected to in 2014. During her tenure on the school board, she co-founded the Florida Coalition of School Board Members (FCSBM) and served as the group’s President from 2015-2016. She remains a Director of FCSBM, and also serves on the Champions Advisory Council for Champions for Learning, Collier County’s education foundation.

Commissioner Donalds is Chief Financial Officer/Chief Compliance Officer and Partner at Dalton, Greiner, Hartman, Maher & Co., LLC (DGHM), an investment management firm. She has been with DGHM since 2002 and serves on the firm’s Management Committee. In 2014, she was named one of Gulfshore Business Magazine’s “40-Under-40.”

Commissioner Donald’s passion for education is exhibited by her extensive community involvement. She was a founding member and Past President of Parents R.O.C.K., “Parents’ Rights Of Choice for Kids,” a non-profit focused on uniting parents and providing representation for parent and student interests on state and local education issues. She also served as a founding Advisory Board Member for Mason Classical Academy, a Hillsdale College public charter school in Collier County and was the weekly Education Correspondent for Daybreak on 92.5FM Fox News Radio. 

Since moving to Naples in 2002, Commissioner Donalds and her husband Byron have provided financial counseling to countless families and have served in the youth ministry of their church, Living Word Family Church, since 2002. Together they have three school-age sons – Damon, Darin and Mason.
