Commissioner Bill Schifino is Managing Partner of Burr & Forman's Tampa office and is a board-certified specialist in the area of business litigation. Commissioner Schifino recently completed his term as President of The Florida Bar for the 2016-2017 Bar year. He is also on the Board of Trustees for the University of Florida Levin College of Law and is a member of the American Bar Association and Hillsborough County Bar Association.

Commissioner Schifino previously served eight years as a member of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, serving as its Chairman, and was appointed to the Commission by both Governors Jeb Bush and Charlie Crist. He is a frequent speaker and lecturer on a number of litigation and trial topics, including deposition strategies and techniques, expert witness procedures and discovery and trial issues in Florida.

Commissioner Schifino has received several professional recognitions including being named a Leading Practitioner in Litigation, General Commercial by Chambers USA and one of the “Best Lawyers in America” for Commercial Litigation and Securities Litigation. He has also been actively involved in the community as a member of the Florida Guardian Ad Litem Association, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater Tampa, Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay, Inc. and Tampa Bay Little League.

Commissioner Schifino received his B.A. from Tulane University and his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Following law school, he worked for the firm Taub & Williams, P.A., subsequently establishing Williams, Schifino, Mangione & Steady, P.A. in 1991, where he was a founding Shareholder, President, and Managing Director before the firm combined with Burr & Forman in 2012.

In addition to his law practice, Commissioner Schifino serves on the Board of Directors for Quantum Capital Partners, a Tampa based Venture Capital Firm.
