ARTICLE X: MISCELLANEOUS, New Section.

Catchline: Tolls in the Florida Keys

(a) Effective no later than January 1, 2023, the section of the Overseas Highway that is popularly known as "Seven Mile Bridge" shall become a toll bridge, under the authority of the State Department of Transportation and its SunPass Program.

(b) The proceeds of the tolls from the Seven Mile Bridge shall be used, solely and exclusively, for the maintenance, upkeep, and refurbishment of the Overseas Highway.

(c) The rate of the tolls from the Seven Mile Bridge shall not exceed $3.50 per vehicle.

(c) For the purposes of this section, unless provided otherwise:

(1) "Seven Mile Bridge" means the section of the Overseas Highway, within Monroe County, that crosses the Moser Channel, linking Knight's Key in the Middle Keys to Little Duck Key in the Lower Keys.

(2) "Overseas Highway" means the 113-mile stretch of U.S. Route 1 (US 1), located within Monroe County.

(3) "State Department of Transportation" and "SunPass Program" shall refer to any successor agencies or programs.
